Position
SAAS seeks a highly motivated intern interested in
social standards, labor and human rights, and the elimination
of sweatshops worldwide. This position requires interest in
how businesses implement social standards for respecting workers’
rights and addressing overall workplace issues.
INTERNSHIP AREA:
Program Support and Research, Data Anlysis, Web and/or Database
Development and Support
The types of activities could include:
-Program support for accreditation activities.
-Collect, organize and analyze data for SA8000 certifications.
-Maintain office systems, filing, copying, scanning and database
entry
-Manage and organize office and tracking systems and incoming
information.
-Identify, research and organize information on other issues
related to social standards and SA8000, such as Basic Needs
Wage, corrective actions & complaints, and benchmarking.
-Assist with website writing, marketing, and data collection.
SAAS is also looking for an intern interested in:
-Website maintenance and reorganization.
-Database development.
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should possess initiative, work independently,
and be a strong organizer who can multitask and meet deadlines
effectively. Excellent computer skills required, including
knowledge of Excel, Access, Web development and Outlook. Candidates
should have a commitment to human rights, labor rights, and
development issues.
