Complaint #003 - Complaint Against an Accredited SA8000 Course Provider

Improperly given failing grade on lead auditor training course exam

Actions Taken:

December 12, 1999: complaint to SAI alleging discrimination in course grading by an accredited course provider. The complaint was forwarded to the course provider, which had additional readers review the student’s exam and found no irregularities.

This was reported to the complainant.

He then appealed this determination to SAI, which reviewed the procedures for grading, administering exams and re-sitting exams and found evidence of compliance. SAI suggested that the student re-sit the exam, but he declined.

This process concluded in January 2001 as SAI did not consider the course provider had acted in error
