*Due to planned revisions and changes to the accreditation and certification methodologies for the SA8000 system, Social Accountability International, the creator and owner of the SA8000 Standard, has authorized SAAS to stop accepting new applicants for accredited certification bodies. SAAS shall temporarily suspend the process for accrediting applicant certification bodies until the changes to the procedures and policies are completed. SAI and SAAS would like to notify organizations interested in applying to conduct accredited SA8000 certification audits that no new applications will be accepted before the revision process is complete. *NOTICE: Accredited SA8000 certificates are granted ONLY by CBs accredited by SAAS.

Only organizations listed on this website are accredited by SAAS and have the ability to grant legitimate SA8000 certifications. Any other claim is false and should be reported to SAAS. This authorization is based on SAAS's semi-annual accreditation audits and oversight of the CB's training, procedures, and audit management.

SAAS has been notified that there are a number of real-looking SA8000 "certificates" issued in Turkey, Romania, Italy and elsewhere, given by companies that do not have the right to do so because the quality of their work is not approved or overseen by the SAAS accreditation system. Please do not mistakenly accept such certificates or contract with such organizations for SA8000 services.
